Online course “short introduction to digital accessibility”

Within this three-hour course, we will show you which tools people with disabilities can use to surf the Internet, which barriers they encounter, and what you can do to prevent such barriers.

Content

  • First introduction to accessibility
    • Accessibility overview (target groups, range of disabilities, standards, significance, assistive technologies)
    • Legal framework, WCAG at a glance
    • Disabilities and requirements on visual level, e.g. color blindness, alternative texts, color contrasts, color usage
    • Requirements on semantic level, e.g. headings, lists, tables, operational elements, etc.
    • Keyboard operability
    • Overview of testing tools
    • Accessibility Developer Guide
    • Accessibility in the project process
    • Raising awareness of accessibility
  • Screen reader demonstration of Internet use by a blind person
  • The content is similar to that of our in-house courses
